Here’s a list of good movies that are going to blow the box office away in the upcoming few months.
Jumper. Official release date: 14 February 2008. Directed by Doug Liman, starring Hayden Christensen, Samuel L. Jackson, Diane Lane, Jumper is a SF about a genetic anomaly that allows a young man to teleport anywhere. Hence, the movie tag line, “Anywhere is possible”. But he soon discovers that he is not alone, and further more, that his kind has enemies who have sworn to destroy them. Feel free to be impressed by the trailer:

Cloverfield. Directed by Matt Reeves, and set to be releasd on 18 January 2008, Cloverfield is an Action SF thriller about a monster attack on New York. Gojira style..

National Treasure: Book of Secrets. Nicolas Cage is Benjamin Gates, the amazingly beautiful Diane Kruger is Abigail Chase, and they are on a quest to discover the truth behind the Abraham Lincoln assassination, by uncovering the mystery within the 18 missing pages from John Wilkes Booth’s diary. The release date is set for 21 December 2007, and here’s the trailer:

Iron Man. For this one, we’ll be waiting a bit longer. The release date is set for 2 May 2008. Starring are Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges and Samuel L. Jackson. Directed by Jon Favreau, this SF Action-Adventure movie is about Tony Stark, a famous billionaire and genius inventor, who gets kidnapped and is forced to build a devastating weapon. I am Legend. This film has already been released, but I really felt like mentioning it here. It’s currently the number one movie in the box office, and a true must-see. Will Smith plays Robert Neville, a brilliant scientist, and is the last man on earth. But he is not alone.. Every single person I know who has seen this film, has really been impressed be everything in it. The story, the sound, the special effects, Will Smith’s outstanding performance, the plot, all combine into a masterpiece. See the trailer, see the movie!
